January 2006 HFIA Meeting and AFCEA West 2006 Exposition
As the newly elected chairman of HFIA, I would like to cordially invite everyone to our next meeting to be held January 12, 2006 in San Diego, California.
The HFIA meeting will be held in Room # 2 at the San Diego Convention Center, 111 Harbor Dr., San Diego, California, USA. We will gather at 8:00 AM. Continental breakfast items consisting of coffee, juices and bread items will be available in the meeting room.
Adjacent to the Convention Center is the San Diego Marriott Hotel, 333 W. Harbor Dr., San Diego, CA (ph. 619-234-1500 or 800-228-9290). There are many other hotels in the area.
The HFIA meeting will be held in conjunction with the AFCEA West 2006 Exposition in San Diego, California. For more information regarding the AFCEA registration, conference exposition and hotels, please go to the website: http://www.west2006.org
Note: Registration for the AFCEA West 2006 Exposition is only necessary to attend the Exposition. Registration is not required to attend the HFIA meeting. However, it is free and allows one to walk through the exhibits.
We are putting together an interesting agenda, which will include presentations and discussions on important developments in the HF industry. The HFIA facilitates:
· The introduction of new technical concepts and approaches to the HF community which might solve communication problems.
· A forum for government to brief industry on standards, interoperability, and program related activities
· A forum for industry to air views on standards, current and forthcoming technology, and interoperability concerns
· A mechanism to allow industry to directly contribute to standards development
· Recommendations and positions by industry to government on standards related issues
We are currently looking for presenters for these subjects and any related topic you may want to offer to fill the agenda. If you have a presentation that you would like to give or equipment that you would like to demonstrate, send myself or David Prokop (HFIA Secretary) a short email to ensure it is placed on the agenda. January 12th, 2006 is fast approaching, so please take time to consider giving a presentation.
